I submitted a ticket (#12526) but it was immediately closed without comment. I am repeating it here in hopes that someone on this forum can give me a better idea of which firmware version I should be using on a new refurbished nom 821 VoIP desktop phone that I purchased from Amazon.
--- copy of ticket ---
My recent purchase of a refurbished snom 821 desktop VoIP phone came with firmware version 8.8.2.16 but the snom wiki page at http://wiki.snom.com/Snom821/Firmware says that only an earlier firmware version 8.7.5.35 should be used. I am confused by what version I should retain on my phone? Should I keep the version I have now or roll back to an earlier version? AND WHERE online can I find my current version again if I need to restore later? Or should I be on an even more recent fw version? Thank you for clearing this up.
