The following Wiki page is so full of disclaimers that it's hard to draw any conclusions from it or to make a guess about more recent adapters. What other chipsets are known to work with the current Snom models that support USB WLAN?
The following page has been a good help to me in searching for potentially compatible adapters that may come from reliable manufacturers:

Recently we added support for rtl8192eu
For example this one was tested recently by some customers and worked perfectly
Thank you, Alberto, for the reply. It's very helpful to know when support for other chipsets has been added. I want to add that you may perhaps have meant RTL8192EU, because the "RT" prefix indicates a Ralink chipset, but the "RTL" prefix indicates a Realtek chipset.
The RTL8192EU chipset is also used in the D-Link DWA-131 and the TP-Link TL-WN823N, both of which are Wi-Fi Certified and seem easy to find.
